Adrian Schlappack
Maths, physics, chemistry, economics

Adrian Schlappack
"When I was still at school, I really enjoyed maths at some point. Even back then, I was really happy when I could help my classmates.
Today, I studied civil engineering at ETH Zurich and I enjoy maths and other natural sciences more than ever. For me, every problem is a puzzle that needs to be solved. I want to pass on this joy of maths to everyone who learns with me, to get them just as enthusiastic about maths. In my opinion, this works best when you can absolutely focus on one pupil. I am particularly pleased that I can accompany the students for a longer period of time so that I can adapt to their individual needs.
In my lessons, I try to show the students in which areas of technology the respective topic will later be relevant or what it can be used for. This also helps me to break down complicated issues into easily understandable portions so that a solution can be worked out step by step."

Alexis Maîtrehenry
French, French diploma examinations, political science

Alexis Maîtrehenry
Alexis Maîtrehenry successfully teaches French as a second language. His teaching experience is extensive - he has worked as a teacher at several vocational schools, grammar schools and universities throughout Switzerland. He is a language expert for the Delf and Dalf exams and is very familiar with the preparation for the Matura ("Hausmatura" or federal Matura). We are delighted to have him in our team!

"I enjoy working with children, teenagers and young adults on their way to achieving their goals. It's always great for me to observe their development.
I taught at grammar schools and vocational schools. At both I was able to experience how individually students absorb and process material.
In my lessons at Perspectiva Nova, whether one-to-one or in small groups, I can cater to the individual needs and prior knowledge of children, teenagers and young adults. In this way, I can support the learners on their journey and the students experience their personal sense of achievement directly on the way to their goal."

Annalea Knöpfel
Maths, German, English, religion and culture, visual arts, learning strategies

Annalea Knöpfel
"I really enjoy teaching in a one-to-one setting because I can support the students individually and respond specifically to their needs. It quickly becomes clear exactly where their strengths and weaknesses lie and which topics need to be explored in more depth. Based on this, we work together to develop suitable learning strategies and build up new knowledge step by step.
My aim is to get the students excited about the topics and show them how they can apply what they have learnt in everyday life. It is particularly important to me that the students experience that they can constantly improve and that we always find a solution together - this also increases their self-confidence in the long term.
As I experienced a number of challenges myself during my time at school, I know many helpful learning strategies that I am happy to pass on today. After my apprenticeship as a structural draughtswoman, I worked in various industries and built up a broad general knowledge. I like to be creative in my free time - that's why I added visual arts to my profile at the PH Zurich alongside maths, English and religion/culture/ethics. As a young secondary school teacher, I am close to the students and organise my lessons in a fresh and varied way.
What I particularly appreciate about Perspectiva Nova is the wide range of materials, the well-coordinated team and the opportunity to support learners in their familiar surroundings at home.
I am a patient, cheerful, structured and helpful person and am very happy to be able to accompany each student on his or her learning journey."

Antero Trujillo

Antero Trujillo
"My passion for the teaching profession stems from my childhood in Cuba and the legacy of my parents, who are also teachers. Every lesson and every school level and every student is unique to me. Teaching in secondary and adult education, combined with my experience and training in music, theatre and singing have helped me over the years to understand each individual student and support them in finding solutions.
In the field of English and Spanish teaching, Perspectiva Nova has given me the opportunity to work with an excellent team."

Antje Pfüller
Mathematics, German, English, French, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography

Antje Pfüller
"Learning new things, approaching problems with curiosity and thinking my way into questions is fun for me and I like to pass on this enthusiasm. It is important to me that students have positive learning experiences so that they can face future challenges with confidence.
The lessons alone, in pairs or in small groups make it possible to individually address the questions of the students and to specifically promote their strengths. In this way, we can develop extended learning methods that are not possible in the classroom in order to learn independently and successfully.
I started teaching at an early age and had the chance to accompany classes as a trainee. With my open and cheerful nature, I can communicate well with children and young people and enjoy working together."

Basile Morel
Mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics

Basile Morel
"During my mechanical engineering and data science studies at ETH Zurich, I came to an important realisation: The path to complex knowledge often leads through small 'aha' moments. As an assistant for mechanics, I was able to accompany Bachelor students through precisely these moments. I was so inspired by this experience that I founded a platform to provide targeted support for first-semester students at ETH.
In one-to-one lessons, I appreciate being able to meet everyone where they are at the moment - and working together towards the moment when the pieces of the puzzle fit together."

Bernd Ohnacker
Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, German, English

Bernd Ohnacker
"Even when I was at school in Enge, I was fascinated by working out solutions on my own. I really enjoyed explaining complicated concepts to my classmates in the simplest possible terms.
Today I am studying Health Sciences and Technology at ETH Zurich and my enthusiasm for many subjects has only grown.
In my lessons, I attach great importance to conveying the material in a lively way and encouraging the students to think about the topic themselves. My aim is to impart knowledge, but also to make learning fun."

Björn Thorsteinsen
Maths, Building Physics, Architecture, German, English

Björn Thorsteinsen
"Even during my architecture studies at the ETH, it always gave me great pleasure to accompany young people in the development of subject areas. I am deeply convinced that in the connectedness of one-to-one teaching, even the most difficult topics can be made accessible. For this reason, the well-being of my learners is very close to my heart.
Having gone through primary, secondary school, grammar school, apprenticeship as well as university, I can connect with my counterpart through different channels. Architecture is representative of my structure and precision.
In my spare time you can find me either rowing on the lake or playing music in the band room."

Blaise Morel
Mathematics, physics, computer science, Japanese

Blaise Morel
"I enjoy working with students to identify connections in the subject matter and between different tasks in order to derive efficient and understandable solutions and methods. In my opinion, this is the best way for students not only to perform better in exams, but also to gain a lasting understanding of the subject matter.
In addition to teaching for Perspectiva Nova, I was also able to gain experience as a teacher by giving one-to-one lessons at grammar school and later by leading tutorials at ETH during my studies in computer science. What I particularly like about one-to-one teaching is that I can tailor the lessons precisely to the students and take as much time as necessary to convey even complicated concepts in an understandable way.
In my free time, you can often find me in the mountains or trying out new learning methods to further improve my Japanese language skills."

Christian Amann
Mathematics, German, Accounting, Banking, Business Administration and Economics, Law, Learning Strategies

Christian Amann
"After working for more than 20 years at various banks, it was my wish to pass on the knowledge I had learned in the degree courses in a meaningful way. At Perspectiva Nova, I found this opportunity for myself. As a father of two children, I have a lot of patience and understanding, which helps me in my work as a teacher at Perspectiva Nova. I am always aware that every child, adolescent or adult has individual needs.
Thanks to my profound experience from my activities as a counsellor and teacher, I glibly draw on practical examples from the learners' lives and explain patiently and comprehensibly in such a way that, at best, intrinsic motivation is awakened. As a result, things that didn't work before suddenly work out.
It makes me happy when children, teenagers and adults can pick up their success through my lessons."

Cindy Casty
Mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, German, English, geography, history, religion, ethics, learning strategies

Cindy Casty
"Working towards a goal together with my students gives me great pleasure. I am very interested in getting my students where they want to go. This is also how I achieve the goal of my dream job as a secondary school teacher.
Perspectiva Nova gives me the opportunity to teach in individual or small group settings, in which I can intensively accompany the learning process of my students and thus respond to their individual needs for support. This is also a great change from the daily school routine in a lively classroom setting.
It is important to me to see how my students develop potential together with me, which ultimately awakens and strengthens their self-confidence in their own abilities. It makes me happy every time I experience an "aha" moment with my students and see them make progress in their learning."

David Schaufelberger
COO Perspectiva Nova, German, Mathematics, English, French, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Religion, Ethics, Learning Strategies

David Schaufelberger
"I convince with my talent to motivate children and to inspire them for the subject matter. A trusting relationship succeeds through individual support and competence-oriented learning, which I particularly value. Cooperation, respect and transparency are also important values for me in the classroom.
My heart beats for German, English and mathematics, but I also enjoy teaching other subjects. In my free time, I read a lot and enjoy climbing and hiking in the great outdoors. Another great passion of mine is music, which I have been indulging in for countless years."

Elisha Jay Fringer
CEO Perspectiva Nova, autism specialist, maths, German, French, English, Italian, Latin, geography, history, religion, ethics, learning strategies

Elisha Jay Fringer
"For many years I have been passionate about supporting children, young people and adults on their educational journey and am delighted that with the professional team of teachers at Perspectiva Nova we have already been able to achieve hundreds of goals. I love to help where I am needed!
We work with the experience that interpersonal relationships contribute much more to the learning process than some would think. We prioritise the development of interdisciplinary skills, so-called soft skills, so that children and young people soon learn to help themselves.
I am a qualified secondary school teacher and have taught at numerous schools in the canton of Zurich and gained very valuable experience in schools in Asia and Africa. I also completed a CAS in Autism Spectrum Disorders in Children and Adolescents at the University of Applied Sciences for Curative Education.
I have been teaching students in individual and group settings for fourteen years and am very proud to be able to count on a professional and motivated team of teachers."

Ella Goll
Maths, physics, chemistry, German, French, English

Ella Goll
"I am open, warm and patient - and take great pleasure in accompanying children on their journey. I don't just focus on academic success, but take a holistic view of each child. In my lessons, I create a space in which children feel comfortable, seen and valued.
I enjoy sharing the latest findings from psychology and neuroscience - presented in an understandable way in the classroom or in dialogue with parents. Not only through my psychology studies at the University of Zurich, but also in my free time, I am involved in research into the health and well-being of body, mind and soul. Whenever it suits me, I integrate small psychological exercises into my lessons. As an athlete myself, I realise how crucial a positive mindset is - in sport, in learning and in life. That's why I don't just want to impart knowledge, but also encourage people and inspire them to enjoy learning. Because if you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything.
Even before my time at Perspectiva Nova, I was able to support children for several years, both at school and psychologically - and experience how much self-confidence can come from small successes.
In my free time, I enjoy doing sports or being out in nature. As a side job and hobby, I also enjoy living out my creative side - be it with colours, fashion, design or dance. This enthusiasm for creative and aesthetic expression and new, inspiring perspectives from it also flows into my work with children."

Ivan Gregori

Ivan Gregori
"After graduating from the Enge cantonal school with a degree in economics, I studied political science and film studies at the University of Zurich. From an early age, I enjoyed passing on knowledge and helping others to learn. In the classroom, I strive to create a motivating atmosphere in which students can develop individually. With a lot of patience and understanding, I help them to achieve their goals and awaken their enthusiasm for learning. It's always nice to see how a topic suddenly becomes understandable and the students can comprehend it for themselves."

Jana Frangi
Mathematics, German, Biology, Anatomy

Jana Frangi
"Supporting pupils and students in their learning process has always been close to my heart. I was once able to benefit from tutoring myself and was thus able to develop in many areas. For many years now, I have used this as an incentive to pass on my enthusiasm for the German language, mathematics and biology to students.
In addition to my top-heavy work in medical research, it is a great pleasure for me to be able to work with young people and adults and to promote their learning skills individually."

Jane Demeulemeester
German, French, English, Mathematics, History, Art

Jane Demeulemeester
"My teaching experience started with completing the basic teacher training and various internships in primary and secondary schools at the Pädagogische Maturitätsschule. I also gained in-depth experience as a tutor in the Schülerhilfe in Germany, where I taught in group and individual classes. These experiences have developed my pedagogical skills and have shown me the importance of responding to the individual needs and learning styles of students in a creative and open way.
My bilingualism in German and French, coupled with my good English skills, enables me to provide students with a solid foundation in all three languages. I am also enthusiastic about other subjects such as mathematics and the humanities.
Away from teaching, I have a creative side that I enjoy expressing through design, tailoring, painting and drawing. This creative approach helps me find innovative ways to teach complex subjects and help students reach their full potential.
In my teaching, it is important to me to create an inspiring learning environment where students feel comfortable and supported. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed and I look forward to guiding and supporting them on their educational journey."

Jessica Bosshard

"After an apprenticeship as an EFZ hairdresser, I worked in various professions for a few years before I decided to catch up on my baccalaureate. With a slight diversions via biology at the University of Zurich, I finally ended up at the PH Zurich. In the teaching profession, I found an opportunity to combine my passion for the natural sciences with that of the fine arts and to pass it on.
What particularly fascinates me about teaching is the diversity of my students' approaches. Each learner brings their own perspective and method, and it's incredibly exciting to see how different problems can be solved.
This diversity not only enriches the lessons, but also me as a teacher. I look forward to accompanying students on their learning journey and achieving their goals together. It's important to me that they not only grow professionally, but also gain self-confidence.
in their own abilities."

"After a two-year stay in Mexico, I returned to Switzerland and entered the property industry. I completed further training as a property marketing assistant and shortly afterwards became the happy mum of a young son.
I now work in administration at Perspectiva Nova AG and it makes me proud to be part of the professional and dynamic team. With ease, our motivated teachers successfully establish a respectful relationship with the students by fostering their talents and helping to reduce their weaknesses. They thus ensure optimal support. As a mother, it impresses me to see how well our school system works when we work in symbiosis with it and, as tutors, support the individual in achieving their goals."

Jimmy Masse

Jimmy Masse
"My lessons should be an entertaining support for the students. I often use games and interactive methods so that the students can develop and don't have the feeling of being in a rigid lesson.
I worked in the Sorbonne Nouvelle I studied in Paris, where I developed my passion for languages and culture. I currently teach at a secondary school in Switzerland. Thanks to my experience in three different countries - Poland, Spain and Switzerland - I bring an international perspective to my lessons. This diversity helps me to make the lessons varied and customised to the students' needs."

Joël Berger
Maths, German, English, French, Geography, History, Art History, Architecture

Joël Berger
"Learning doesn't have to be tedious. In my opinion, it is crucial to apply what you have learnt in a playful way in order to experience a real sense of achievement. Watching your favourite film in the original language, gaining an insight into the underlying cultural understanding through a form in the visual arts or a geometric structure in architecture, or grasping the principle of osmosis while cooking - all of this conveys a more holistic understanding of complex relationships than simply learning formulas by heart.
I really enjoy working with interested students in remedial teaching. After studying architecture at ETH Zurich (MSc.), I initially remained at the university as a research assistant and was able to work with many students on their projects, among other things. Working with people is one of the most exciting and challenging areas for me and so, after a few detours, I now find myself training to become a qualified nursing specialist. I am acquiring a completely new range of skills that also characterise and enrich my work at Perspectiva Nova."

Jonas Auer

"What I like about teaching in an individual setting is that I can support the students in honing their strengths and have the opportunity to offer them the material they need if they have gaps. It is important to me that I work with the curiosity and initiative of the students and thus awaken their intrinsic motivation and strengthen their independence and confidence in their own abilities and skills.
After my apprenticeship as a polymechanic, I learned bit by bit on the second educational path how learning works best for me. Practical relevance and networking with previous knowledge are important factors - but enjoyment also plays a role. So I like to support my students in not losing sight of the fun in learning.

Jonas Stetter

Jonas Stetter
"Curiosity and a lifelong fascination with learning are the reasons why I have been teaching young people and adults for almost a decade. Each learner must be treated as a unique person. It is important to me that my interest in the people I work with is tangible.
I support learners in all kinds of tasks in German and English. The variety that Perspectiva Nova offers is very appealing as a teacher. If the students are successful, then so was I. In my private life, I like travelling to new places, preferably with a book in my hand. At the weekend, you can find me at the theatre, cinema or concerts."

Jonas Wittwer
Mathematics, German, French, English, Latin, Computer Science, Accounting

Jonas Wittwer
"I completed my Matura with a classical language profile at the Kantonsschule Zürcher Unterland. After a shortened IT apprenticeship, I studied IT at the University of Zurich.
In my school career, I have learned that success in a subject often correlates with the way it is taught. My priority is therefore always to adapt my teaching style to the students. In addition to teaching the material, it is also important for me to pass on learning techniques. In this way, the greatest success can be achieved across all subjects.

Julie Lind
German, Mathematics, English, Danish

Julie Lind
"I am an enthusiastic teacher. I have been working with children for many years and I love helping them to discover their talents and realise their full potential. I find one-to-one lessons and tutoring particularly exciting, as they allow me to cater specifically to the individual needs of the students and thus enable them to make rapid progress.
In my spare time, I have been a ski instructor at the club for more than ten years. Having fun and trying things out for myself is very important to me. My experience as a ski instructor has taught me how important good communication and a positive attitude are in order to promote my pupils' learning progress."

Kristina Bright

"Learning opens up a multitude of new horizons. I am always happy to help students organise their work and develop their own learning strategies, whether in mathematics, science or French, English and Italian. My goal is to help students achieve the success they are striving for.
Seeing my students gradually progress and gain confidence is the most rewarding aspect of tutoring. It is a privilege to witness these moments when they discover new perspectives.
I love science and languages. Having lived in several countries, I had the opportunity to learn French, English, Russian, German and Italian fluently. I was fascinated by the world of natural sciences from an early age. As a microbiologist and immunologist, I know very well how important teaching and learning strategies are!"

Lashvinth Mathikanthan
"I really enjoy teaching children. It is important to me not only to impart knowledge to them, but also to accompany them with a mindful and pedagogically sensible approach. Especially at a young age, children need clear, empathetic guidance in order to develop confidence in themselves and their abilities.
I am particularly motivated by supporting my students on their individual learning path and working towards a goal together with them. It fulfils me to provide them with targeted support and to see them come closer to their own goal step by step. It is equally important to me that they build up their self-confidence - because if you believe in yourself, you can overcome challenges and surpass yourself."

Lisa Merki
German, Mathematics, English, French, Italian

Lisa Merki
"The aim of my teaching is to create a learning environment in which every student feels comfortable and can ask questions freely. With my motivating and cheerful manner, I manage to get learners excited about the content and believe in their own abilities.
The individual and group lessons at Perspectiva Nova enable me to respond individually to the students, to further develop their strengths and to work on their challenges in dealing with learning content. Through the targeted approach to the needs of the students and the individual support, the goals that are set are also achieved.
Through my studies as a secondary school teacher at the Zurich University of Teacher Education, I have already been able to gain important experience in everyday school life. It gives me great pleasure to see the sparkle in the eyes of children and young people. Especially when they have found a solution to a difficult task or have been able to realise a brilliant idea. With my humorous and open manner, it is easy for me to share the joy of learning."

"Thanks to my studies at the University of Teacher Education, I was able to gain a lot of experience in classroom teaching over time. To compensate, I also work as a caregiver for young people with physical disabilities, which is a fulfilling alternative to the regular school day.
Through my tutoring experiences during my time at grammar school, I quickly realised that I enjoy supporting the learning process in an individual setting. I want to accompany children and young people in challenging teaching-learning situations and give them the right tools so that they can solve challenging tasks independently in the future."

Lukas Ebneter
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, German, English, French

Lukas Ebneter
"Not being able to do something is the ideal starting point for successful collaboration. Only those who make mistakes and observe themselves can see what they can work on. In one-to-one lessons, I can focus on the gaps, but also on the strengths of the learners, get to know them and achieve goals together. Perspectiva Nova offers flexible help with this. I enjoy watching how learners solve their tasks themselves faster and faster and how I slowly become superfluous as a tutor.
I have always been interested in problems and challenges that go beyond my current knowledge and skills. Be it in school, in sports, in music, in making personal contacts, etc.. I love challenges and I like people who do too. I am interested in and impressed by people, big and small, old and young, who want to get to know themselves better. That takes courage and willpower. Because what you recognise about yourself on the way forward doesn't always look pretty.
I studied movement sciences at the ETH (MSc ETH). After several years of research in the orthopaedic sector, I returned to ETH to obtain a teaching diploma for Matura schools in biology. For about ten years I have been teaching mainly science subjects at Sek I and Sek II level, but also languages and sports.
As a pupil, student, teacher, person and former top athlete at international level, I have learnt to fall down. And to get up again and again. Falling down, sitting down and getting up are also part of my other areas of interest; in nature, as a meditation and yoga teacher, in sport and dance."

Manuel Zimmermann
German, geography, history, religion, ethics, physics, biology, chemistry, exercise and sport

Manuel Zimmermann
"I have been pursuing my dream of becoming a secondary school teacher for ten years. My studies at the Zurich University of Teacher Education allowed me to gain a lot of valuable experience, and every new experience enriches my work. I particularly appreciate working with young people who are facing important decisions about their future. Be it the transition to grammar school, secondary school or an apprenticeship.
I love the work in the classroom, but also the role as a tutor at Perspectiva Nova for the quieter individual or small group settings. The teaching and learning takes on a different character, it becomes personal and I can pay individual attention to the strengths and weaknesses of the students.
I try to keep my teaching deliberately creative and refreshing, and always with a touch of humour. My aim is to provide students with a learning environment that is conducive to learning. give them the tools they need to succeed and encourage them to trust themselves."

"In addition to my work as a senior medical secretary in the gynaecological clinic at Graubünden Cantonal Hospital, I support the work of the teachers at Perspectiva Nova on an administrative level. It gives me great pleasure to see how much expertise, knowledge and passion is put into working with children, young people and adults. Respecting all pupils as individuals is a matter of course and contributes greatly to the success of pupils and teachers, without social background playing a role.
I am the mother of four children and know that every child is unique and develops at their own pace. It's exciting and a privilege to be able to accompany them on their personal journey."

Marcel Flütsch
German, Mathematics, Spanish, English, Proofreading Work

"I consider the one-to-one setting to be very valuable because there is so much more room to respond to individual needs and questions. By empathising and awakening young people's curiosity and joy of discovery, I try to stimulate learning that is as sustainable as possible. Conversely, I also try not to lose my spirit of discovery completely and am always keen to find out what is on the young people's minds at the moment.
Accompanying people in finding their own solutions and the creative use of language are particularly close to my heart. I also enjoy using language in my free time, be it in the theatre, in films, in books or while travelling to learn or improve foreign languages.
As a qualified secondary school teacher, I can now look back on several years of work experience in Switzerland and at the Swiss School in Mexico."

Marina Girod
German, French, English, Japanese, Geography, Learning Strategies

Marina Girod
"After completing my Matura at the Freudenberg cantonal school in 2017 with a profile in modern languages, my Japanese studies at UZH gave me the opportunity to delve deeper into a foreign language that was completely unknown to me. During my time at secondary school and also during my studies, I was therefore able to acquire various learning methods that helped me to learn new foreign languages. As I also studied geography as a minor subject, I am also familiar with learning methods for scientific subjects. I would now like to share this knowledge with the students through my work at Perspectiva Nova.
When teaching in a one-to-one setting, it is very important to me to strengthen the students' self-confidence and their belief in their own abilities. It's always nice to see how even small successes in the classroom can motivate pupils. I generally really enjoy working with children and young people and I'm happy to be able to support them on their educational journey."

Mario Starc
Mathematics, Accounting, Physics, Economics and Society

Mario Starc
"I try to pass on my passion for mathematics and accounting to my students in every lesson in order to awaken and develop their potential together (which they definitely have). I combine more complex tasks with situations from everyday life and the world my students live in. In this way, I also prepare them for life. Whether it is a preparation for a normal school exam, the central entrance exam to the Gymi or e.g. to the BMS - together we reach the goal! As a father of two school-age children, I know the challenges your children face.
In my free time I like to do sports such as cycling, jogging, football, swimming and Vitaparcours - because even teachers need to air their heads once in a while!"

Melvin Steiger
Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, German, French, English, Latin, Spanish, Japanese

Melvin Steiger
"I have been supporting pupils from all age groups on their learning journey for many years. A relaxed atmosphere is very important to me - school is usually strict enough as it is. With a lot of sensitivity and patience, I try to introduce my students to topics that often don't seem so exciting at first contact. I always try to give them an insight into the extent to which this topic might be important for their lives after all. This is particularly motivating in maths, as it's not always obvious to many students why they need a certain topic in their lives."

Miguel Charó

Miguel Charó
"For my future, my child saw an adult who would work with people. I have now been teaching for five years in various settings from music teacher, class teacher and private teacher and am able to pursue my vocation through Perspectiva Nova.
After my vocational baccalaureate, I worked in various childcare jobs in daycare centres, after-school care and schools and, after successfully completing my studies at the PHZH, changed my training to become a music teacher. I am very much looking forward to pursuing my broad educational activities."

Natalie Swysen

"I love working with people in small groups or in individual settings, because then I can really respond to my counterpart and draw on my wealth of experience to the full.
As a trained primary school teacher and with my storytelling skills, I am able to describe things in such a way that the pupils can visualise them and thus remember them.

Nicola Mininni
German, Italian, French, Mathematics

Nicola Mininni
"I have been passionate about teaching since 1987. It fulfils me to work with children and young people and to accompany them on a part of their school career, be it in languages or mathematics.
I teach at a cantonal school in addition to private lessons at Perspectiva Nova. There I am the head of Italian, but I also teach other subjects such as French and German. I am also a class teacher and expert in Matura examinations as well as a practical teacher for teacher candidates.
Perspectiva Nova gives me a new opportunity: the insight into the learning environment at the children's and young people's homes and into the personal learning goals that I can achieve with them so much better and step by step. One-to-one tuition is an extremely effective way to help learners progress academically quickly and sustainably so that they can soon help themselves. I am always happy to meet new students!"

Nicolas Mennel
Latin, French, German

Nicolas Mennel
"The effectiveness of a lesson in a classroom setting is not comparable to that of individual lessons. In a one-to-one setting, I have the opportunity to cater to the individual needs of the students. Not only can I specifically close gaps in subject-specific skills, but I can also teach learning strategies and boost learners' self-confidence.
But my lessons are not only aimed at academic success. It is important to me to show my students that the topics they are learning are also relevant in life outside of school. For example, the Latin language may seem "dead" at first glance, but my students often experience an "aha" moment when they discover related words in German, English or French. These "aha" moments are what I particularly enjoy about teaching for Perspectiva Nova. Thanks to the comprehensive work materials available to me, I can prepare my students for their exams in a targeted and personalised way."

Nicolas Nadig
Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, German, English, French

Nicolas Nadig
"For me, knowledge is the greatest asset and education is the best investment. I would like to pass on this joy of learning to my students. To do this, it is not only important to me that my students understand the subject matter, but also that I can arouse their interest in it. Furthermore, it is my goal that my students learn to use their time efficiently and skilfully so that they can prepare for exams independently. With individual learning strategies in maths, German, English, French or other natural sciences, I want to help my students achieve their personal goals."
After graduating from high school, I was drawn to the natural sciences and am now studying physics at ETH Zurich. However, my personal interests range from history to psychology and philosophy. I only discovered many of them thanks to enthusiastic teachers. I would also like to share these new perspectives with my students. What gives me the most pleasure is when I can help others to have an "aha" experience."

Noé Egli

"For me, learning is not just about the goal, but also about the journey to get there. I am convinced that real understanding and lasting success come about when learning is fun and personalised. My aim is to motivate students to discover their own strengths and build confidence in their abilities step by step. I want to accompany them on this journey with patience, clarity and an open dialogue."

"My story at Perspectiva Nova already began in 2018: Perspectiva Nova not only successfully supported me in my Gymi exams at the short-term Gymnasium, but also accompanied me with great commitment during my school years. I am currently in the intermediate year before my studies and, as a homework corrector, I check the work of prospective secondary school students.
My favourite subjects are German, English and mathematics, but other subjects also fill me with great joy.
I have been passionate about football since I was five years old. From the beginning, I was taught important values such as team spirit, mutual motivation and self-reflection. These factors are not only important for success on the pitch, but also the most important approach when it comes to inspiring students to learn.

"Perspectiva Nova offers customised lessons that optimally promote the individual abilities of each child. I see this as a great opportunity to realise the full potential of every child.
When I'm not teaching at Perspectiva Nova, I'm on the road as a classical singer, singing teacher, music school director and event manager. The diversity of my professional activities allows me to use my wealth of experience to find the optimal learning path for each child."

"As a teacher, it gives me a lot of pleasure to accompany the pupils into independence and to celebrate the small learning successes together. Strengthened self-confidence in one's own abilities and small, steady progress are the key to personal learning success. In a one-to-one setting, I can respond very individually to a child's needs and thus adapt my teaching methods.
My school and university career was by no means always a bed of roses - I can understand frustration when you are "queuing up" for a subject. I can empathise with this situation, but I can use my experience to help overcome it.
I discovered the joy of working with children and supporting them in their needs at an early age. Among other things, during an internship as a class assistant at a bilingual international school after my A-levels. There I got to know children from a wide variety of backgrounds in the school setting. Through my later work at a curative education school, I was able to gain experience with children with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. With my patient, calm and yet relaxed manner, I was able to support the children individually in their abilities. One of the biggest lessons I have learnt from this work is to adapt the lessons to the child, to be empathetic and patient. The focus should not be on the deficits, but on utilising the strengths and thereby empowering the child."

"Language teaching is both my profession and my hobby! I love teaching languages both as a secondary teacher in class and in a much more personal one-to-one setting, and I take the time to show students why it is so important to be able to speak several languages these days.
When teaching, I always relate to the students' lives and know many tips and tricks that even make learning Voci entertaining. My love of travelling and learning about foreign cultures and languages helps me to promote understanding of the languages taught here.
Perspectiva Nova gives me the opportunity to learn much faster and more intensively with the students in individual lessons, so that the fear of speaking, but also the grades in school, rise again quickly."

"I trained as a mechanical engineer specialising in process engineering and worked for over 30 years as a career changer in IT for a major Swiss corporation. Even after my retirement, I am still enthusiastic about IT - especially when I can use and pass on my knowledge in a meaningful way.
At Perspectiva Nova, I support the technical processes in the background, ensuring secure data and stable systems. In this way, I help to ensure that the team can concentrate on the essentials: Helping children on their educational journey. As a father of four, I know how valuable and individual each child is - and how important good support is for their future."

"While I was studying English and German language and literature, I enjoyed teaching English and German to pupils at various school levels in one-to-one settings. That's when I realised that I find working with young people refreshing and really appreciate it.
Thanks to my many years of teaching experience at grammar schools, vocational colleges, technical colleges, language schools (DaZ lessons) and a primary school, I am very familiar with different learning and teaching methods and have come to the conclusion that basically all students can achieve learning success. I have found that it gives me great pleasure to provide practice material that is tailored to the learning needs of the students. My aim is to support the pupils with varied materials that are tailored to their interests as much as possible. In this way, the pupils feel noticed and often find access to the subject or the language and thus experience a sense of achievement.
I can pursue this concern particularly well in an individual setting, which I find very satisfying. In addition, a familiar learning environment, such as that provided by Perspectiva Nova, favours learning success.
I enjoy practising kung fu in my free time. I am in the role of the student and therefore recognise the importance of the interpersonal level in learning processes. As a student, I also realised that the fun factor helps you to learn."

"After graduating from high school with a focus on maths and physics, I completed my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering for three years. I am now doing a Master's degree in Robotics, Systems and Controls at ETH Zurich. I discovered my love and strength for maths at an early age.
I imagine the compartment like a big machine with lots of different cogwheels. Only when all the cogs are present and correctly adjusted can the machine function. When all the sub-areas have been understood and internalised, you can master tasks that may have seemed foreign to you before.
Very often, pupils have a good basic understanding of a maths topic but lack the right connections. In the individual lesson, I can take the problem apart, find out which gears are missing or incorrectly adjusted and reassemble them correctly. The aim is to solve all the problems step by step, make the right connections and get the machine running. One of my biggest motivations is watching a child's AHA moment and seeing the joy rise when the machine finally runs."

"I trained as a chemistry lab technician and studied theoretical physics at ETH. Contrary to the reputation of the theoretical physicist, I avoid scaring students with overcomplicated explanations. I come up with explanations using the funniest possible analogies from everyday life for abstract issues. I have a lot of fun looking for new perspectives with students of all possible school levels, from primary school to adult education. I particularly enjoy coaching students with learning disabilities."

"I completed my basic teacher training during my secondary school education at the pedagogical baccalaureate school, during which I was able to benefit greatly from numerous internships in kindergarten, primary and secondary schools. I regularly work as a vicar and have taught at primary schools as well as at a vocational preparation and integration school, which has enabled me to develop my teaching skills.
I am now also studying psychology at the University of Zurich and aim to become a psychotherapist. I enjoy spending my free time socialising or with animals, reading and expressing myself through art. My personal interests, combined with my pedagogical and psychological training, enable me to respond creatively and empathetically to the individual needs and learning styles of students and to offer new learning strategies in the event of any difficulties.
In my lessons, it is particularly important to me to be able to respond individually to the students and to promote their self-confidence and sense of self-efficacy. I am convinced that together we will realise hidden potential and learn a lot in a patient and stimulating atmosphere."

"Helping other people to progress in their endeavours is a great happiness that almost only succeeds when you have the time and space to respond to a person. I am happy to tackle projects and achieve goals together.
I studied German language and literature and philosophy in my Master's degree. In 2018, I dedicated myself to my love of the stage and ventured into self-employment, so since then I have been working full-time as a musical performer, puppeteer, librettist and set designer. Perspectiva Nova gives me the opportunity to pursue my other passion, teaching, alongside a very time-consuming and irregular job."

"I gave maths tuition for the first time when I was 15 and quickly realised how much I enjoyed helping other people. As a teenager, I had already decided to become a teacher. My experiences during and after my studies to become a secondary school teacher confirmed that working with young people is a matter close to my heart and incredibly exciting. I meet my pupils with a smile on my face and a lot of positivity in my varied everyday life and pass on my enthusiasm for many subjects to them.
In a one-to-one setting - unlike in the classroom - I can draw on all my resources. one I can concentrate on the person and work directly with them to tackle knots and help resolve them. I really enjoy this efficiency and direct interaction.
In my free time, you can find me either at the gym or in the hall playing volleyball. Otherwise, I spend my free time with my family and friends between my home towns of Constance, Zurich and Hanoi or travelling the world."

"By attending the Pädagogische Maturitätsschule, I was able to gain experience as a teacher early on and complete various internships at primary and secondary school level. The pedagogical path I took ultimately led me to study educational science, where I also learnt a lot about schools and teaching from a theoretical and institutional perspective. In a practical setting, I find it rewarding to accompany and support pupils in their learning process.
In my free time, I like to spend time reading, doing sport and attending cultural events. I particularly enjoy being inspired by new experiences and events and try to bring my great enthusiasm into the classroom.
For me, the direct exchange and teaching-learning process between the teacher and the child is extremely important and I believe that the interpersonal component is just as important as learning new knowledge. For me, this is also an important reason why I enjoy one-to-one lessons, as you have enough time to promote this component, especially in this teaching setting."

"It is really important to me to support students in an open, respectful and relaxed learning atmosphere. I want to give them space to approach new topics at their own pace and to grow courageously in the face of their challenges.
Through targeted remedial teaching, I help them to discover their strengths, realise their potential and develop more confidence in their own abilities with every step they take."

"I came to teaching in a roundabout way, which gives me a welcome basis in everyday school life. For about 25 years now I have been teaching big and small - and I find teaching, instructing, guiding and accompanying one of the most wonderful activities of all. In what other profession can you find so many different aspects, contents and questions as in teaching? I also get my money's worth: a constant learning process!
I value, respect and support the individuality of each student. Do I have role models? Certainly former teachers from my own school days who encouraged me in their own personal way and took me seriously.
But there is also the legacy of a Maria Montessori (Help me to do it myself - show me how!), a Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi (head, heart, hand) and a Vera F. Birkenbihl with her captivatingly logical and refreshing methods; all these foundations not only make everyday school life colourful and attractive, but also make it possible to design it in a way that is above all child- and learner-friendly.
What could be better than meeting a child in their enthusiasm, encouraging them to be independent and supporting them even when things aren't going so well!"

"Motivating students to become lifelong learners is my vision as a teacher.
My aim is to pick up the learners where they are at the moment and to achieve learning progress together with them.
As a competitive athlete, I know what it's like to have to perform at your best under pressure. The path to success is never easy and straightforward. With my open, patient and calm manner, I try to help students strengthen their self-confidence and realise their goals step by step.
Perspectiva Nova offers me the possibility in individual and small group lessons, in contrast to normal class lessons, to respond even more specifically to students and to accompany their individual learning process more intensively, in order to pave the way to the next aha experience.

"Having trained as a structural draughtsman and worked as a classroom assistant and teacher at primary and secondary school level, I already have a lot of experience in providing pupils with targeted support.
Perspectiva Nova offers me the opportunity to apply what I have learnt in individual or small group lessons alongside my studies. It is particularly important to me to recognise and support each person in their individuality."

"Learning should arouse curiosity and joy. That's exactly what fascinates me about teaching: Seeing how a child blossoms when they find their own way to understanding.
I am currently about to complete my degree as a primary school teacher at the PH Zurich and have already been able to gain many valuable insights into everyday school life over the past few years. From September, I will be starting my second degree in education, psychology and English, as I have a great enthusiasm for language, education and learning.
The joy of learning takes centre stage for me. It is important to me to give children positive experiences, to encourage them and to emphasise their personal strengths. Everyone learns in their own way. That is why it is important to me to accompany, support and encourage children individually.
At Perspectiva Nova, I value the opportunity to work with children both in individual settings and in small groups and to accompany them on their individual learning journey. With creativity, patience and my open, cheerful manner, I want to help children achieve their personal goals and celebrate both small and big successes."
