Things to know about our tutoring

Since our learning programme can be adapted to individual needs, many elements are modular. We have tried to answer the most frequently asked questions here, but we are also available for information at any time. Please do not hesitate to discuss your concerns with us.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE LESSON

Yes, you as parents decide whether it makes sense to teach several children with the same learning level. Nevertheless, our recommendation is quite clearly individual tuition, so that the most can be achieved without competitive behaviour and other external circumstances. The prices for group lessons are adapted to this: For a group of two: 80 CHF per 45 minutes and child, for a group of three or more: 60 CHF per 45 minutes.

Basically, the children only need a case with the necessary writing utensils, depending on the level with a set square (Geo-Dreieck), ruler, compass, calculator and others. Otherwise, we have our materials with us, unless it is a school accompaniment, where we work with the materials from school.

Upon request, we will conduct a learning assessment at the beginning to see where learning gaps have arisen. The number of tutoring hours per week can vary greatly and is recommended by the management.

We also teach at premises on Stampfenbachstrasse near Central in Zurich or at Enge station. We can also offer lessons at the premises of a nearby university. We are also well versed in online teaching.

Yes, we really teach all subjects! In the case of foreign subjects such as Ancient Greek, music theory or swimming, we need a certain amount of time to find a teacher.

Yes, especially during the Corona pandemic we gained a lot of experience with digital media. We also teach online. We give the children and young people tips on apps and other interactive programmes so that they can also solve one or the other exercise interactively in their free time.

Yes, we are happy to teach you or your children online. We have already taught students from Mexico, the USA, Japan, Laos and Liberia. Even if you are on holiday and would like to deepen your knowledge of a subject, this is a great way to help you.

The health of you, your children and our teachers is paramount. We follow the instructions of the Federal Office of Public Health very closely. At the moment, masks are compulsory: our teachers, pupils and students wear masks during lessons. We recommend that parents have teachers wash their hands briefly at the beginning and end of lessons. We also recommend that the shelves are disinfected before and after each lesson.

We want you to feel safe. However, it is unfortunately not possible to teach at a distance of more than two metres from the students. Please call us or write to us at info@perspectivanova.chif you have any questions.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TEACHER

The first contact between parents and teacher is made by the management of Perspectiva Nova. Thereafter, parents may of course contact the teacher directly if any questions or concerns arise. For all administrative questions or if you are not completely satisfied with the teaching, please contact the management immediately. We attach great importance to the quality of teaching and always seek feedback from you as well as from the teachers.

The interaction within the team of teachers is very personal and transparent. It is very important to us that we get to know each other well so that the placement of your child runs smoothly. All teachers have gone through an application process and are recommended by the management with the best conscience. If you are not satisfied, you may of course contact the management immediately so that another teacher can be found.

This is possible, but it does not necessarily have to be. Our teachers can teach several subjects. However, experience shows that especially when teaching the higher age groups, the skills in subject science and subject didactics are either more on the languages or more on the sciences.

They are all trained teachers. In addition to primary, secondary and grammar school teachers, we also employ teachers who have graduated from university or the ETH, for example. Pupils from grammar schools and students from universities or colleges are particularly dependent on the scientific competence of the teacher.

DIVERSE QUESTIONS

The amendments adopted by the Government Council can be found here.

The most important changes at a glance:

Langzeitgymnasium (from 6th grade of Primary School)
According to the new regulations, public school pupils must achieve an average of at least 4.75 for their experience grade (average of the subjects German and Mathematics in the first portfolio of grade 6 in primary school) and examination grade (average of the examinations in German and Mathematics).

For students from public schools, only the examination grade (average of the examinations in German and Mathematics) counts. This must be at least 4.5.

Kurzzeitgymnasium (from 2nd/3rd grade of Secondary School)

According to the new regulations, public school students must achieve an average of at least 4.75 in their experience grade (average of the subjects German, Mathematics, French and Nature & Technology in the first portfolio of grade 2 in secondary school) and examination grade (average of the examinations in German and Mathematics).

Please note: In order for the experience grade to count, level I (best level) must be attended in all of the above-mentioned subjects. If a subject is not attended at level I, the experience grade does not count and the same admission requirements apply as for students from public schools (see below).

For students from public schools, only the examination grade (average of the examinations in German and Mathematics) counts. This must be at least 4.5.

The French examination and the oral examinations will be completely abolished from 2023.
